Southpointe, known as “Gibson,” made a remarkable entrance into the western pleasure circuit in 2024 under the expert guidance of professional horsewoman Jamie Hartman. His debut as a 3 year old at The Southern Ohio Quarter Horse Association’s “The Madness” show in May set the stage for a series of impressive performances throughout the year. Gibson showcased his talent at the Back to Berrien Futurity and the NSBA World Show, culminating in a Top 5 finish in the AQHA World Show Pleasure Versatility Challenge with Professional Horsewoman Jamie Hartman.
Bred by Gumz Farms, Gibson is sired by the late Its A Southern Thing (“Moonpie”) and out of Pine Ventures. He is owned and shown by Kristy McKechnie. Gibson’s achievements in 2024 not only highlight his exceptional abilities but also carry forward the esteemed legacy of his sire, Its A Southern Thing, who was celebrated for his versatility and significant impact on the industry.
